Community Book Club

Join LitShop for Community Book Club! Participants will receive our book club selection two weeks prior to the event. During Community Book Club, we’ll have a facilitated book club discussion, then spend the rest of the evening hanging out in the shop. Participants can work on existing projects, start something new, or just hang out with their LitShop friends, all under the supervision of LitShop staff. We've even been known to karaoke! Dinner and snacks provided. Our book club titles are selected from recommendations from the American Library Association, the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents, School Library Journal, and LitShop youth. The titles we choose are always either middle grades or young adult, and themes often touch on topics that may be more appropriate for older or more mature teenagers. We encourage caregivers to make an informed decision on their child's readiness to read and discuss the titles before registering for our program. Need a ride? If transportation is a barrier to your child accessing LitShop programs, request transportation support from our friends at CommUNITY Arts STL. CommUNITY Arts STL provides low-to-no cost safe and reliable transportation for youth to arts opportunities across St Louis.
